Dan Matthews, President and owner of Uwharrie River Log Homes, was first introduced to log homes 20 years ago while working as a loan officer for a local bank. During the process of assisting a client with a construction loan for a log home, Dan became involved in the project and his deep appreciation and passion for log homes and the mountain lifestyle was born. In 1989 he financed and built his own log vacation home in Wilkes County, North Carolina. Since then, Dan has been designing and building both log and frame homes and representing Wilderness Log Homes and now Expedition Log Homes as a certified dealer. Based in Concord, Uwharrie River Log Homes has completed construction projects in the Piedmont as well as the High Country areas of North Carolina.
